RE: Shut off the water when you leave for the day?

This happen in Texas this past winter. One night it got down below freezing and the water lines froze. Single woman in TT behind us got up in the morning and tried to brush her teeth. Well the line was frozen so she got out bottled water to use. Then she left to go to her job at the hospital. Later in the day it warmed up and the line opened up. She had forgot to turn off the water in the sink and had her gray tank closed. It didn't take long to fill the gray tank and the water was running out the door. I don't always remember to turn it off but do try when we are away.

Best route out of Knoxville to Pigeon Forge, TN

What would be the best way to get to Pigeon Forge out of Knoxville. I am looking at Rt 441 to Rt 66 or I-40 to Rt 66. I know there is construction in Knoxville on I-40. We will be going thru there the second week of Sept.

RE: Eureka Springs Arkansas

Do a search on the internet for "eureka springs trolley". The town is not that big and it would be a lot cheaper getting around on the trolley than renting a car.

RE: Need suggestions on where to stay in Maine

Make sure your car is front wheel drive if you are using a tow dolly. If you don't want to pull a car around you can always rent a car at different areas. Trying to us a 37' mh for sight seeing is not fun.

RE: water spot on windows

I will have to second white vinegar. While we were in Kerrville, TX for the winter we had a lot of problems with the hard water and spotting. When washing the car we would spray the car with vinegar before drying and that took all the hard water spots away.

RE: Uninstall Office 2007

I have Office 2007. The help screen said to do the following. Sounds like what you have been trying to do. Install or remove individual Office programs and components -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tags download; install; Excel; upgrade -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What are tags? When you first try to use a feature that is not yet installed, 2007 Microsoft Office system usually installs the feature automatically. If the feature that you want is not installed automatically, do the following: Exit all programs. In Microsoft Windows, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel. Do one of the following: Windows Vista Click Programs, and then click Installed Programs. Click the name of the Microsoft Office edition or program you want to change, and then click Change. Note In Classic view, double-click Programs, and then click Installed Programs. Click the name of the Microsoft Office edition or program you want to change, and then click Change. Microsoft Windows XP Click Add or Remove Programs, and then click Change or Remove Programs. Click the name of the Microsoft Office edition or program you want to change, and then click Change. Note In Classic view, double-click Add or Remove Programs, click the name of the Microsoft Office edition or program you want to change, and then click Change. In the 2007 Microsoft Office system Setup dialog box, click Add or Remove Features, and then click Next. Click the custom installation options that you want: Click a plus sign (+) to expand a folder and see more features. The symbol next to each feature indicates how that feature will be installed by default. You can change how the feature will be installed by clicking its symbol, and then selecting another symbol from the list that appears. The symbols and their meanings are as follows: Run from My Computer The feature will be installed and stored on your hard disk when you complete Setup. Subfeatures won't be installed and stored on your hard disk. Run all from My Computer The feature and all of its subfeatures will be installed and stored on your hard disk when you complete Setup. Installed on First Use The feature will be installed on your hard disk when you use the feature for the first time. At that time, you may need access to the CD or network server that you originally installed from. This option may not be available for all features. Not Available The feature won't be installed because it is not available. If a feature has subfeatures, a symbol with a white background indicates that the feature and all of its subfeatures have the same installation method. A symbol with a gray background indicates that the feature and its subfeatures have a combination of installation methods. You can also use the keyboard to browse through features and change feature options. Use the UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW keys to select features. Use the RIGHT ARROW key to expand a feature that contains one or more subfeatures. Use the LEFT ARROW key to collapse an expanded feature. When you have selected the feature that you want to change, press SPACEBAR to display the menu of setup choices. Use the UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW keys to select the setup option that you want, and then press ENTER. When you are done choosing the custom installation options that you want, do one of the following: Click Upgrade. This button appears if Setup detects an earlier version of the same Office program on your computer. Click Install Now. This button appears if Setup does not detect an earlier version of the same Office program on your computer. .

RE: Weight of toad four down

Rick, No, the trailer was not on the scale. So I was only getting the weight that was on the tongue.

RE: Weight of toad four down

I have put our rig on the scale and with my enclosed trailer with the Wing in it and hook to the mh it weighed 19,500. MH is only 34' long. When weighed I had full tank gas, full propane, 1/4 water and two people on board plus we were packed to travel. After traveling for over 25 years on the motorcycle I know how to pack light. My bays even when we go for months at a time are not full. Rick, if what you say is correct then I should have not problem pulling this load. Hope that is right.

Weight of toad four down

Been using a dolly and taking the car or pulling a trailer if I wanted to take my Gold Wing. Thinking of getting a 4 wheel drive 1/2 ton truck and loading the Wing in the back of it with an auto loader that pulls it into the back of the truck. My question is the truck weights around 4800 lbs, bike 850 lbs, loader 200 lbs and the hitch is rated for 5000 what do you do? My motorhome is 34' with the workhorse W22 and 8.1L engine. I don't think there would be any problem pulling it but I don't know if this is to much overall weight for the hitch. I have seen this setup on a few gas motorhomes so I know it is being done.

RE: Looking for park in FL for 2009

If anybody has a good campground that they don't want to post please feel free to send me a private message. Found a place for next winter. Thanks for all the postings and private messages.

RE: Looking for park in FL for 2009

Thanks for all the good ideas. Some I have been looking at others I want to take a good look at. The real problem seems to be getting into a good park for the winter. Most are full and somebody has to cancel to create an opening.

Is there going to be a posting of the group photo that was taken after the potluck? If so, it would be nice if somebody added everybody's names to it

Looking for park in FL for 2009

Looking for winter rv park in FL. Tried TX last year and would like to try FL next winter (Jan.-March). Please don't tell me how much better TX or AZ is. We are not into golf or fishing. Need a park that has a lot of winter actives planned (cards, games, meals, etc). Would like to keep the cost around $500 a month or less plus electric. Have been looking at parks about 50-75 miles north or northwest of Tampa. The parks that I looked at south of Tampa were getting out of our price range. Don't want to go the route of driving for one park to another and staying for a week or two at each. With the price of gas that would get very expensive, also staying a month or more is a lot less.

RE: Replaced TV with 26" LCD

Doody, I don't know what size the TV is but the opening was just under 27" so a 26" HD LCD fit just right.

RE: Replaced TV with 26" LCD

brobox, I use nylon straps on each side to hold the tv in place. Got the strap and clips like on fanny pouches at the Ace Hardware store. The mount will hold a 80# tv and mine is only a little over 20#. Most of the mounts were well over $100 but found this one at WalMart.com for around $70 with shipping and you can get it for less if you have it shipped to a Wal Mart near you.

Replaced TV with 26" LCD

Here are a few pic of the 26" HD LCD I put in our mh. Talking out the old big tv frees up a lot of room and weight. You can see the straps I used to hold the LCD in place while going down the road in the Behind TV picture. We are 50 miles from St. Louis and the Batwing antenna pulled in the HD channels very clear. RE: Any experience at Traverse Bay RV Resort

Very nice resort. Stayed there last year for 4 nights and would stay again. Had a dolly for the car and they came and picked it up and put it away till we were ready to leave. I think most of the pads are owned by others and some of them put $60 to $100,000.00 in landscaping on there lots. That is what I was told.
